The New (Secret) Stuff

1) I have a new job that takes up A LOT of my time.

2) I still find time to draw, ink, color, and write. I.E. Shonen Style and TS.

3) I will probably (not) be posting the art here. For various reasons.

4) I will probably (not) be posting the art on DA. For the same reasons not mentioned.

5) My website is coming along smoothly, yet slowly. See #1.

6) The new art with be at the new place. See #3 and 4.

7) There will be a new blog as well. See #5.

8) I'm working very diligently. See all of the above and below.



9) You should expect a launch party. There will be cake.

Capt. Morgan and Something Else

I've been watching DB Kai. I cant seem to get the feel for digital drawing, so I'm gonna start keeping a Digital Sketchbook. It will also prove benifeictal cause I don't have a scanner and won't have one for a while...or a PS3 for that matter. I'll probably draw digital stuff far less than traditionally, but I want to get the hang of it. I also wanted to start out with something easy. Putting that aside...



Please excuse the terrible picture the sun is not out, it's raining, and I couldn't get the lighting to work for me. This is the best I could manage. Ah, I also had to make the picture gray-scale so all the blue line is... you get it.

This will be a different experiment. I want to actually finish this picture with digital coloring and even a background drawn and colored completely digital. It's gonna be a challenge. I have the day off today some I'm gonna work (draw/write) Shonen Style all day. Taking break solely for apply for new jobs. POSITIVE THINKING!!

By the way I've been up and drawing since 7:30 am! For those of you don't know me, know me, that's kind of amazing and never happens. I typically sleep in till about 12 pm and as late as 2 pm! If by any change I sleep until 3 pm, the day is over...I don't feel like doing anything. Random facts about me for free.

An Update is an Update is an Update.

Today Bites. I was gonna spend the day chillin' with my dad cause I, for no reason at all, woke up at like seven and was surprised to find my dad still asleep; my dad leaves for work at like five in the morning almost everyday of the week. He took the day off. So I was kinda pumped my dad never takes days off. But alas, he was only taking half the day off so at about 10 or 11 he was off to his second job. My dad is a really hard working man, truly inspiring. One time he...no. That's another story.

After he left I didn't really feel like drawing so I read a bit of Detective Conan. Then watched Lethal Weapon 4, and The Firm, and I did some terrible sketches. Now though, I'm just gonna write. A good friend of mine just got proof prints of a book he's been working real hard on. So now I gotta kick it into the next gear and catch up. I've mention my project several times before. It's nothing new and technically it was supposed to be done by now. But you know, life happens. My mother is trying to encourage me to stop saying "Life is hard sometimes." Either way you'll see more of that later. TS has been pushed back to the design phase. I want there to be a deeper meaning to the things I want to transpire. I spent a lot of time developing the characters but now their story and world needs an equal amount of attention. Though I should probably stop working on so many projects at once and focus all of my energies into finishing one story. Fairy Dust, Devil's Luck, C.M.C., Private I's...yup. One thing at a time.

Ah, despite focusing on Shonen Style I still want to finish, something small at least, every week. I finished that drawing of Morgan, but this is an art-less update. You'll have to wait till later, but after that I suppose it would be best if the drawings to come are all connected.

Working on Something Again

Today's the first day off I've had that I've been actually able to draw something in I don't... a while. The first picture was a sketch that I spent a little more time on than I should have. She is another character from Tetra Slash, even though I should be working on Shonen Style. Her name escapes me, but that's because I remember that I was gonna change it. Her physical character needs to be fleshed out. I know that she likes to rip thinks apart. I mean LOVES to rip things apart, tearing them to shreds and what not. On top of that, she finds the pain of others to be one of the most beautiful things in this world. The woman is plain physco. I had a strong image in my head for her pose so I just went for it no real sketch accompany this pic. And lets see...The drawing is almost complete. I figured I would add the designs on her clothes digitally when I draw a more finished picture.




Next is a character I created near the beginning of my college days. I was writing a novel (that I never finished but recently picked back up), and she was the main character. Captain Morgan. That's right the name comes from exactly where you're thinking and no, I'm not a drinker. She's not the money stealing, town raiding pirate. Nor does she fill any other pirate stereotype you may think of. I bring that up because of the treasure chest I was going to put under her foot. I'll go into to all that when the picture is more complete. This post is going to be longer than I expected.

Oh, I also figure out a way to use my digital camera like a shoddy scanner. The method's quite a bit of work, but that's what I'll have to do until I get a real scanner. That or drive to Savannah every time. Anyway this picture is the first to prove that my method works and the Epson scanner I want is $3000!! *Dies* So I'll be buying the $300 Mustek one instead...eventually. That scanner is a PS 3 slim....ARRGHH! MUDA! MUDA!! MUDA!!!

Ugh...this weekend I'm going to Atlanta and may drain what little funds I have, but it's worth it to see my girl for a day. What was the name of that song? A Thousand Miles? Anyways...



Last up. I wanted to start using Wednesday's as a weekly update thing. I should get in the habit of weekly updates, it'll only help me in the end. And it'll kind of be like a deadline, I need that nowadays. Even though I don't miss rushing to finish something. Either way, I recently watched Forbidden Kingdom again...man that movie could have been so much better as a whole. I wanted to draw my own Monkey King inspired character. Haven't gotten very far on it. We'll see how it turns out. I'll keep sketching things as I work on Morgan.

Oh...The one shot I'm writing. I finally did some sketches of the character in Shonen Stlye. When the script is finished I'll post those.

A Little Dissapointed ...weeks ago.

This is how those guys looked in head. Not quite as cool as I thought. Did this a while ago and I saved the inked line art so don't be surprised if a couple of weeks from now I color them. Maybe that'll be a little cooler. Of course don't be surprised if I don't mess with them at all. Oh, might as well post all of the faces I didn't use. Cause there's one in the bunch that I might make something out of in the future.
